March 12, 1941-November 19, 2017 Jorge Alberto Navia Carrasco, Jr., born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to Alberto Navia Carrasco and Edith Valdivia Padilla. The oldest of three brothers and older half-sister. He grew up in Bolivia and immigrated to the U.S. He proudly served U.S. Air Force for seven years and completed two tours in Vietnam. He earned his BA in Business Administration from Pace University. His joy was his family and he was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Alberto loved recount stories about his life and childhood. He had a deep interest in genealogy and he researched family and Spanish historical records which he passed on to family. Alberto was a devout parishioner and Eucharist Minister at St. Philip's Church and active in the Knights of Columbus, of which he was a founding member (St. Philip's Council No. 9530). He is preceded in death by his father Alberto, mother Edith, and brothers Joaquin, and Luis. He leaves his wife and love of his life, Nidya Madrigal-Navia; his sister Ruth; his four children: Tiffany, Alberto, Genie, and Sean; two step-children: Liz and Fernando; as well as twelve grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. |
